Week Seventy-Three

Heyyyy Guys!!

A Marsh Valley Playoff berth, a trophy for the MV girls soccer team, a good week for the Jazz, and a big win by the Dallas Cowboys is a lot of great news to see in my emails today! Sounds like things back home are going pretty well. I wish I could feel some of that cold weather and maybe have a piece of pumpkin pie, but for now Roti's and Curry are doing a good job. Things here are seriously going really well here in India. We are preparing for the stake formation and doing work as usual. Missionary life is a busy life, but we somehow always find time to make it fun. This week we had Diwali and it was awesome! Not as many fireworks as last year but still, a lot of fireworks. I knew India couldn't actually ban something soo awesome, even if it is killing our lungs now.

Elder Openshaw also had his birthday this week and we were able to go out and eat at pizza hut, which drains our pockets so that's why it's not a common thing. But it was really good and we ate so much. We also got an ice cream cake for him and that night we got into a pretty awesome, but cold, cake fight. Elder Openshaw is a great friend and companion! India would be a very different experience without him here!

Life in Delhi is good, I wish I had some cool or crazy story to tell you, but this week was pretty laid back and normal. We got yelled at by a man in a market the other night for being Christians. He said because we eat meat and animals we don't love God and that we are evil people. We shook his hand and said thank you for sharing his thoughts with us, then walked away and ate some chicken. That was about as exciting as it got this week! Lots of appointments and visits. We spend a lot of our time meeting with members and helping them. Tonight we will go to a family home evening, and we visit families all the time and try to help lift and support them. That's been one of my favorite parts of my mission is getting to know and spending so much time with these families. I think its so important to build those relationships as a missionary. It helps with the work and it builds their testimonies as you help them learn to live the gospel. I know I was sent to be with the people of India by God. I don't have much of a message today, but I hope you all love your fellow ward members and stake members. Be there to serve and help one another, that's the reason for the structure of the church. Love your neighbor as thyself is the second greatest commandment for a reason, because it shows whether or not you actually keep the first and greatest commandment of loving the Lord with all your heart.

Go Eagles
